Very stoked for this update. Here is some reasons why (these are basically my highlights for this patch)
-Rockets have had an explosion velocity boost. It means they will inflict more damage on faster moving targets whilst also gaining a straight damage boost through changes to rocket damage and rocket launcher rate of fire.
-The EVE client is now resizable in Windowed mode, allowing the players to stretch their client over several monitors. Now EVE Online is much more beautiful in ultra-widescreen resolutions. This feature is not available in the Mac Client.
-There is a new version of Windowed Mode called Fixed Window. It is similar to the regular Windowed Mode but lacks any title bars, frames or borders. Fixed Window is not available in the Mac client
-A new option, ?Horizontal offset? has been added to the settings menu. It allows the player to have all menus on one monitor and focus on his ship in another monitor.
-EVE now supports anti-aliasing. The beauty of virtual space has never been more? beautiful. Anti-aliasing is unfortunately disabled on the Mac client at the moment. We are working hard to get the anti-aliasing feature enabled in our Mac client in a future release.
-Microwarpdrives now have their own brand new icon. (ok not so much but still cool)
-Ships are now coming out of warp smoother, without ?rubber-banding?.
I'm particularly stoked for the graphics options. I think on dual screens (or more) it is a great idea to have all your ui items on one screen and your ship view on another. Even better is the ability to stretch them across screens.
The game also supporting anti-alaising should be nice. I'm downloading hte patch now, and am looking forward to seeing what kind of visual effect this will give the game. Should be most noteable on zoomed in ships and stations, in the texture pixelation.
That rocket buff should make my flycatcher probably right on par with a sabre now.
Anyone else bumped about some changes?
good changes
fixed windowed mode good for me
horizontal offset sounds good, but could not see obvious way to set it up. maybe you need same res on both monitors.
It is actually just as simple as dragging it across to the second screen. Or at least thats what worked for me =P
Same rez is not required but i would say highly recommended. The offset things works well but be careful about switching back as i had the station tab and local off screen. I had to reset window locations. All in all a nice bump. Although I can't really see an improvement with AA on. Anyone else noticing anything?
Weapons & Ammunition
?Rockets have had an explosion velocity boost. It means they will inflict more damage on faster moving targets whilst also gaining a straight damage boost through changes to rocket damage and rocket launcher rate of fire.
?Quake has had its velocity and capacitor recharge penalties removed.
?Hail has had its capacitor recharge penalty removed, its tracing speed penalty reduced and its damage boosted.
?Gleam has had its shield hitpoint and signature radius penalties removed.
?Conflagration has had its tracking speed penalty reduced and its damage boosted.
?Javelin has had its velocity penalty removed.
?Void has had its tracking penalty reduced and its damage increased.
I have not had a chance to test these out yet. I wonder if it makes these T2 ammos viable now.
?Probes can now be added to the overview.
thats a good one
