Screen Dimming

Hey guys.
When i play EVE on my laptop dims my screen by itself, even though it is on the brightest setting. When i click the brightness button, it'll go bright, which is how i want it, but after 5 seconds or so it'll go back tgo being quite dim. Was wondering if anyone else has the same problem or knows how to sort it?

have you checked your power managment settings?  Is this whilst running off battery or with the laptop plugged in?
